Using martial arts as a gateway, we work to inspire individuals all over the world to pursue their greatest dreams, overcome their fears, and achieve more in life.

Our founder, Maggie Messina, grew up in New York’s foster care system and has transformed her childhood hardships into her lifelong passion. She now owns and operates the most successful martial arts school in New York - Taecole Taekwondo and fitness Inc. - and dedicates all of her spare time to affecting a positive change in her student’s lives. Maggie is currently touring the Tri-State area by offering a free Women’s empowerment and self defense seminar titled “Breaking through Barriers.” Her approach is to teach simple but effective self defense and prevention techniques that will become second nature to her students by the end of the seminar. Swerv.Change also hosts Martial arts day at Citi Field, an annual event that attracts more than 200 martial artists from the Tri-State area to inspire and be inspired by one another through demonstrations of technique and special skills.
